Additional information
This lecture aims to create space for open dialogue about the intersection of American art and Native expertise and presence. Taking Dr. Tatiana McInnis’s summation that “Justice is the conversation” as a starting point, the program honors the Massachusett, Wampanoag, and Nipmuc Peoples by gathering diverse minds to discuss actions the discipline of art history and the Harvard Art Museums can take to amplify Native voices historically displaced and dismissed from the discourse of art and design in the Americas.
