Create artwork related to our local animal species using the guidelines. CPS K–8 students, as well as Grade 5–8 charter school students or participants in Cambridge-based OST programs are eligible.

Grades K–2: Three entries will be chosen. Prizes will be a drawing pad and a collection of drawing materials
Grades 3 & 4: Two entries will be chosen. One artist in each grade level will receive a $25 gift card to Berryline
Grades 5 & 6: Five entries will be chosen. Artists will receive a $50 Gift card to Cambridge Naturals, Bagelsaurus, or 1369 Coffee (our choice).
Grades 7 & 8: Five entries will be chosen. Artists will receive a $50 gift card to Coady Florist, El Jefe’s, or 1369 Coffee (our choice).
Co-sponsored by Cambridge Local First and Green Cambridge, this challenge blends the talents of student artists and the citizen science of the worldwide City Nature Challenge. Students will bring awareness to the species of wildlife that live in our city through their art; at the same time, Boston Area City Nature Challenge identifications introduce local species to public elementary and upper school students.

The location provided is a mailbox for people to send us their original wildlife artwork. Please only use this mailbox if you are sending an original work of art (not a copy of your work). Digital or scanned copies can be sent to our email or through our Facebook page.
1. Entries must be original artwork by students in Cambridge Public Schools.
2. Artwork must be submitted with students first name, last name, school, and grade. Last names will not be published in full publicly, only the first letter of the student's last name will be used in public communications. By submitting your artwork to the challenge, you and your parent agree to use of this information and the public posting of your artwork online or in Cambridge Local First shop windows.
