Additional information

Spark offers a unique opportunity for you to explore a topic in depth with MIT students and interact with other like-minded students! Check out the catalog and register for classes at esp.mit.edu/learnsplark2024.

Open to 7th through 10th graders, Spark is a one-weekend learning extravaganza taking place on Mar 16th and 17th! Classes — both academic and non-academic — are offered from 10AM to 6PM on Saturday and 9AM to 6PM on Sunday. The program will be fully in-person on MIT's campus!

Spark offers a wide variety of exciting classes on topics like rocketry, global development, throat-singing, nuclear reactors and much more! Classes will be assigned by lottery, and all registrations by Mar 5th will be considered equally, so take your time to look through our catalog! You can rank up to three classes per time block as “priority” and express interest in as many additional classes as you’d like. The lottery stage of registration will closed at 11:59 pm EDT on Mar 5th.

A second phase (the "first-come first-served" phase) of registration will open a few days after the lottery closes, at the same time as students receive their class lottery results. Stay tuned!
