Additional information

Join Cambridge Willdlife Arts, a program of Green Cambridge in the the return of the HONK! Parade. The parade is part of the 17th HONK! Festival of Activist Street Bands from Davis Square to Harvard Square. We welcome any Cambridge resident to come and be part of our multigenerational, multi-neighborhood group of Cambridge residents who want to show our care and love  for the trees, wildflowers, pollinators, and all wildlife in our city.  Carry a butterfly puppet, wear a red-winged blackbird or dragonfly costume, or one of our  wildflower hats or march inside our giant caterpillar puppet. Bikes, trikes, scooters and strollers are welcome! Age 14+ students who volunteer to help transport puppets before or after the parade or help distribute our puppets and costumes just before the parade begins to our marchers may earn community service hours; we can take one high school volunteer to take good photographs of our group during the parade, as well.

What is the HONK! Parade?  A processional performance for street bands and community groups that will be a rich expression of the possibilities of democracy in the 21st century.

When is the HONK! Parade? Sunday, October 9, starting promptly at noon in Davis Square, Somerville, and arriving at Harvard Square beginning around 1:15.

How do I join you? Come to the Day St., Somerville municipal parking lot across from Flatbread Pizza by 11:15 a.m. on Sunday, October 9.
