Additional information
Join us for an introduction to the art of lithography. This workshop will begin with a viewing of Edvard Munch’s lithographs and a lithographic stone in the exhibition Edvard Munch: Technically Speaking. Exhibition co-curator and curatorial fellow Peter Murphy will discuss Munch’s complex approach to this printmaking technique. We will then proceed to the Materials Lab to learn about the fundamentals of lithography by experimenting with “kitchen lithography”; that is, prints made with accessible materials you may have in your kitchen.
