An annual weekend-long learning extravaganza where middle schoolers come to MIT campus to take classes from MIT students all weekend long, on any topic they desire!

.: Saturday, March 18 10am – Sunday, March 19 5pm.
Spark will run on Saturday and Sunday, March 18-19. Saturday will have classes from 10am to 5pm Eastern Time; Sunday will have classes from 9am to 5pm Eastern. Both days have a lunch break from noon to 2pm Eastern.
Ages: 11 to 14.
Grades 7th grade and 8th grade.
SPARK is an event for 7th and 8th Grade students that are 11+ years old.
Lottery phase of registration ends March 4th, with a first-come first-served phase after that (dates TBA)

Cost
The total cost of attending Spark is $50. We also offer generous need-based financial aid. In order to participate in Spark, please either pay the program cost of $50 or apply for financial aid.

Additional information
This year, Spark is offering over 100 classes on topics such as Mineral’s Lab: Earth’s Materials, James Madison on the Founding of the United States, and A Brief History of Computer Science! Spark classes take place all over MIT's campus, in and out of classrooms.
Spark will happen on the weekend of March 18th and 19th, with classes running 10am to 5pm on Saturday and 9am to 5pm on Sunday. In between classes, students can also check out walk-in activities, which are fun, interactive activities like liquid nitrogen ice cream or shrink art making for students to take a break and have some fun before their next class!
