On this tour, Andy Kim ‘25 will explore negative space, studies, and “unfinished” works through the lens of an aesthetic idea that has deep roots in Korea: the beauty of emptiness. The works on the tour will be a mosaic pavement fragment with a peahen (Syrian, 5th–6th century), John Singer Sargent’s Study for Seated Figures for “El Jaleo” (c. 1882), and Paul Cézanne’s Study of Trees (c. 1904).
