CAAS Head Start is a free pre-school program that supports the learning and development of children from ages 3 to 5 in Somerville and Cambridge.

Ages: 3 to 5.
Grades Preschool and Junior Kindergarten.
Head Start accepts applications for children under 5 all year long for families whose income falls below 130% of the poverty guideline. Families must be from either Cambridge or Somerville.

Head Start Enrollment Information and Applications.
Head Start accepts applications for children under 5 years old all year long. If your family income falls below 130% of the poverty guideline, or if you believe your family would benefit from Head Start enrollment you can contact us or begin completing the application online. Our online applications are available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Haitian Creole. You will also need to provide following documentation to enroll:
- Proof of Age (passport, birth certificate, etc.)
- Proof of Income (Tax form, one month of pay stubs, DTA letter, etc.)
- Proof of Residency (any bill that has been mailed to you)
- Child’s Health Insurance Card.

CAAS Head Start is a free pre-school program that supports the learning and development of children from ages 3 to 5 in classrooms located in Somerville and Cambridge. CAAS Head Start promotes the school readiness of young children. In addition to our comprehensive developmental preschool program, we also offer a variety of wrap-around services to approximately 275 low-income children and their families each year.
