DHSP Community Schools Programs provide educational, cultural, social and recreational opportunities for Cambridge children in Junior Kindergarten through 5th grade.
This program runs during the school year.

- Tobin Montessori School at 359 Broadway, Cambridge, MA 02139
Additional information
Community Schools programs are offered Monday-Friday during afterschool hours, school vacation weeks, and early release days. Children enjoy activities that enhance their learning, creative expression, and health while fostering a sense of community and social connections. Community Schools programs operate in every public elementary school.

Eligibility
- Applicants must be Cambridge residents or children of City of Cambridge employees.
- Children must be entering Junior Kindergarten through 5th grade in September 2022.
Cost
- Program cost is based on family income.
Timeline
- Monday, May 16 – Friday, June 3, 2022: Community Schools Afterschool Programs Lottery application period.
- Applications will be completed online through the City’s Viewpoint platform.
- Families who need help with their application can contact askdhsp@cambridgema.gov or 617-349-6200.
- Week of June 27, 2022: Families will be notified of their child’s placement in a Community Schools Afterschool program or in the waiting pool
- Notifications will be sent through email and the Viewpoint platform. Families can log into their Viewpoint account to check the status of their application at any time.
