Bridging the Gap

Bridging The Gap enriches the lives of teenagers through a life-skills curriculum, self-improvement activities, site visits, and community service projects.

This is an ongoing program.
Monday through Thursday.

This program runs all year round with rolling admission. Over the summer the schedule is 3-4 PM. The Fall schedule is 5 to 6 PM.

Ages: 12 to 18.

Grades 6th grade through 12th grade.

Eligibility is based on grade level, must be in grades 6-12.

There is no formal application, but guardian of child is required to take part in intake process. Contact the director and paperwork will be provided on how to enroll. Registration is rolling throughout the year.

Additional information

The Bridging the Gap staff helps each youth to develop positive and successful decision-making skills.

Topics include self-esteem, anger management, communication, and job readiness. Every student who completes this program receives a laptop computer for their hard work.  Program is run by the Salvation Army at their building in Central Square. We go on occasional field trips over the course of the year.

12 week life skills program available for youth, twice a week after school. 

There is no cost to participate; young people who complete the program go home with a laptop computer.
