We are a free gender-inclusive, noncontact, fitness-based boxing program held on twice per week in the evenings for Cambridge youth in grades 6-12.

It's a FREE program held twice per week (in the past it was Monday and Wednesday or Thursday) from 4-5:30 PM at the YMCA in Central Square.

Ages: 11 to Young Adult.

Grades 6th grade through 12th grade.

Cambridge residents only.

Eligibility is based on grade level.

Additional information

The Program is a collaboration between the Cambridge Police Department Youth & Family Services Unit and the Cambridge YMCA. The training is for learning the sport of boxing, and is available to boys and girls. Participants experience ranges from none at all, all the way up to professional.

It focuses on physical and mental health, self-defense skill building, peer mentorship, relationship building, family support, social emotional learning, inclusion, individual growth in a group setting, accessibility, equity, and (most importantly) FUN.
