We offer sailing, paddling, and windsurf lessons, STEM programs, games, and other activities for Greater Boston's youth every summer.

Monday, June 12 – Friday, August 18
Monday through Friday.

Program runs 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM each day. Classes are offered on a bi-weekly or weekly basis.

Ages: 10 to 18.

Grades 4th grade through 11th grade.

Eligibility is based on age, (ages 10+). Must be able to swim 50 yards (the length of a standard pool).

Registration opens on November 28. There is no deadline and anyone can sign up throughout the summer so long as there are spots available in that class.

We highly recommend you read our FAQ page before trying to register. Visit https://www.community-boating.org/junior/getting-started/ to get the basics before you enroll. Young people must have some proof they can swim 50 yards - you can take a swim test for free at any YMCA, or you can show other forms of certification.

To complete registration, you’ll  also need:

  • parent/guardian contact (including email address)
  • child’s name and contact info
  • child’s swim proof (see FAQ for details)
  • income information (optional — for discount calculation)
  • credit card (in person we accept cash or card, no checks)

Cost

Sliding scale from $1-$425 for the whole summer, which includes membership, classes & boat usage; everything we offer for the summer weeks! CBI uses a fee calculator during registration that is based on household income and family size.

Additional information

Sailing program that serves young people of all levels, those just beginning to sail and kids who have tons of experience. Kids take classes till they reach a level where they can take boats out on their own, then can choose what their day looks like and what further classes they want to take. Activities include Sailing, Kayaking, Windsurfing, and Stand-up Paddleboarding.
