Learn to Row and Crew League Summer

Our summer experience introduces boys and girls ages 12-18 to the fundamentals of sweep rowing on the Charles River.

Participants of any skill level are welcomed, no experience needed!

Steps to enroll:
- Under the Youth Rec Summer Rowing page, click on the category that you are interested in (categorized by date/type of rowing ex. sweep or scull).
- Once you add the items to the cart, check out through RegattaCentral.
- Once you processed the payment, you'll be given forms sent through the account holder's email detailing what to sign (forms include a liability form, swim test form).
- Once the forms are filled out, you can bring those forms in person at CRI, or scan/mail them electronically and should be all set.
Cost
Sessions are typically $250 each, plus a $194 facilities fee (paid only once per summer).

Financial assistance is always available. Please register on-line and when registration is complete, submit the financial aid form.

Parking is available on site. We'll meet In front of the boat house.
CRI provides a bus from Ruggles T station to the boathouse, which is free of charge for athletes enrolled in a CRI program. The bus is operated by First Student and picks up at 200 Forsyth St (Northeastern side of Ruggles T stop).

Summer is offered in 10, 1-week sessions. Each day, classes will start/end:
- 9-11am
- 11:30-1:30pm
- 12:30-2:30pm
- 1:30-3:30pm
Additional information
The basic elements of the rowing stroke are covered along with rowing terminology, equipment handling, physical well-being, hydration, diet, flexibility and core strength. Learn to Row is an introductory non-competitive program, where new rowers have a chance to try the sport in a fun and safe environment. Our primary activities are Sweep Rowing (more team based) and Sculling (individual rowing).
