Takeout Technology Service at CPL
We extend access to technology like Chromebook laptops and mobile WiFi hotspots by allowing patrons to check out devices during the COVID-19 public health crisis.
This is an ongoing program.
Days and times vary for each library. Call us during our Contactless Pickup service hours to request a device from one of our available locations. Please also be aware of our holiday hours provided on our Contactless Pickup page: click here to review times.
This program will continue to be available during the COVID-19 public health crisis.
Organization affiliates only.
Anyone with a library card can request to checkout our takeout technology when devices are available. We recommend adults accompany young children wishing to checkout devices. The Library launched its Takeout Technology program in early August to extend patron access to technology resources during the Covid-19 public health crisis. Since the program was launched, the library has expanded its offerings from Chromebook laptops to mobile WIFI hotspots. The latest phase will allow patrons to check out a Chromebook laptop and a mobile WIFI hotspot as a single item. Takeout Technology service will also expand to Central Square, O’Neill and Valente branch locations in addition to the Main Library.
