Cambridge Youth Enrichment Program Summer

We bring together students from Harvard College and surrounding universities with kids from Cambridge's different neighborhoods.

This program runs during the summer.
Morning and Afternoon.

Our exact program dates are to-be-determined. Most likely it will be July 1 - August 8, 2024. The program will run 8:00 AM- 4:00 PM daily, Monday - Friday.

Ages: 6 to 13.

Grades Kindergarten through 7th grade.

Cambridge residents only.
Cambridge public/subsidized housing residents only.

This program prioritizes students who live in CHA or other affordable housing in Cambridge (all Cambridge subsidized housing residents are prioritized). Eligibility is also based on age and grade level, must be a rising 1st to rising 8th grader, rising 1st graders must turn 6 years-old by September 1st, 2024 to be eligible.

Enroll in a Summer Urban Program

The registration link will become available on the Summer Urban Program website on March 1st, 2024. Families are accepted on a rolling basis during the registration period. We send notification of enrollment 2 weeks after we receive your application.

Cost

The cost for the whole summer is only $125 camper and $100 for each additional sibling! If this fee presents a challenge to you please fill out a fee waiver request form.

  • Financial Aid and/or Scholarship Available
  • Sliding scale based on income

To request financial assistance, please fill out camper scholarship form (in same link as registration page). No family gets turned away due to inability to pay.

Shuttles will be available from Fresh Pond Apartments to Baldwin. The locations are still to-be-determined but most likely they will happen at Baldwin and Kennedy-Longfellow.

Additional information

CYEP is part of a network of 11 camps in our area, the Summer Urban Program. Includes:

 

  • Educational enrichment, including daily reading and math practice
  • Sports of all kind (soccer, basketball, baseball, kickball, etc)
  • Outdoor games in local parks and playgrounds
  • Swimming
  • Overnight camping trip for older campers
  • Weekly field trips to museums and events in the Cambridge and Boston area
  • Art projects
