Virtual Math Puzzles and Games Classes: Cambridge Math Circle
Join us for math activities online! We have free introductory classes open to students from Cambridge, MA in grades 1-8 and paid regular classes for 1st-5th graders.
This is an ongoing program.
Your time slot for the class of your choice may be based on your child's grade level. Please specify on your registration what time slot you are looking for.
In addition to our regular classes, we also offer a free trial class on Mondays for students in grades 1-8, broken up by grade level. To register for the next available spot and our other classes, please visit www.cambridgemathcircle.org. For our free class, choose "Free citywide class pre-registration."
Our classes include an ice-breaker, then some non-standard warm-ups (things like "What's in the middle of nowhere?" or "A peacock is a bird that doesn't lay any eggs. How is that possible?), followed by a main activity (problems from all areas of mathematics, selected and prepared by Ph.D.s in math and science, with over 40 years combined teaching experience). At the end of each class, students play board games. These are live, online classes that take place in small groups (6 or fewer students per teacher). Each participant will be entered into a raffle to win a physical game, shipped by Amazon.com.
The program serves people at their homes or wherever it is needed.
These are online math opportunities.
Trial classes are between 45 minutes and 1 hour long.
Regular classes cost $25.
