    Additional information

Dwarpalika, by Nepali artist Sneha Shrestha (also known as IMAGINE), is now on view. The recently acquired sculpture references formidable female temple guardians while drawing its form from Newari ankhi jhyal or “eye windows”—ornamental lattice windows from the Kathmandu Valley. Reimagined in metal to evoke the glow and patina of brass and gilt bronze sacred icons, the lattice incorporates the Devanagari letter ka, a symbol of comfort, memory, and home for the artist.
