Additional information

In their Instagram series, Let’s Botanize, Harvard doctoral candidates Ben Goulet-Scott and Jacob Suissa share their passion for plants and bring these often-overlooked parts of our environment into the foreground. Join us for a live screening of their short video, Movement without Muscles: The Sensitive Fern. The sensitive fern, Onoclea sensibilis, is a native New England plant with an unusual method of spore dispersal. Hear about Jacob’s research into the anatomical mechanisms that make this dispersal possible and develop your appreciation of the plants around you. Audience Q&A with Jacob and Ben will follow.

Advanced registration required. Visit the event registration page to reserve a spot for this virtual event.
