Additional information

BatucadaMIT was formed in the spring of 2023 to foster community and joy through the rich world of Brazilian music and the lively traditions of percussion and dance. The audience will be invited to participate in the performance. We will celebrate Brazilian musical genius Caetano Veloso, who will perform in Boston later in April.

BatucadaMIT was created by MISTI MIT Brazil, Portuguese at MIT Global Languages, the MIT Brazilian Students Association, and MISTI Brazil alumni. The group is led by contemporary percussionist, educator, and Brazilian native Marcus Santos
