Youth Underground MSYEP Reading 2021

Youth Underground, Central Square Theater's resident youth performance ensemble, presents a free reading of a newly created work on youth mental health. Arranged from interviews with their peers, How Do We Heal? Explores youth understanding of their own mental health and how they can better support their peers. Considering questions like "Why do we only address mental health when there's a crisis?", "Why do adults often seem dismissive or unprepared for youth mental health challenges?", and, "How has the Pandemic affected youth mental health?", Youth Underground, in partnership with the Cambridge Mayor's Summer Youth Employment Program, has over a six week intensive, created a compelling story allowing teens to respond to issues in their community.
