We believe orienteering is one of the best ways to encourage physical activity for youth, and to provide experiences where they can develop important life skills. Orienteering is a recreational and olympic level sport: participants use a map to find a series of checkpoints. Orienteering has a strong community aspect that encourages planning for and acknowledging errors, sharing, supporting one another and iterating again. Individuals translate these skills into everyday life situations.
