Students in grades 7-8 are introduced to the concept of AI through self-driving cars. They will learn about AI's benefits and flaws, as we explore the intersection of technology, ethics, & innovation.
Sign-up Information
- Ages: 12 to 14.
- Grades 7th grade and 8th grade.
- Wheelchair accessible.
Eligibility is based on grade level (7th-8th). Gender parity amongst the participants is a priority for selection.

- Registration opens October 1.
- Space is limited. Program fills up fast.
- Registration form is self-explanatory. Make sure your child answer questions in application in detail.
- Achieving gender parity is a priority in our admission process.

Students and/or parents can arrange transportation from CPS Upper Schools to CRLS on an after-school bus. Must check with their school Clerk/front office to make arrangements.

This program runs during the school year.
January 12 to April 27, 2026. Runs Mondays 4:30 - 6:30 PM.

Join us for a hands-on, engaging program for 7th and 8th graders passionate about technology and making a difference. This program dives into the world of social robots—robots that can interact, learn, and even build relationships! You’ll explore how artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics can create positive change by designing robots that can act as friendly companions, helping and connecting with people in meaningful ways.
