Academic Mentors work 1-on-1 with youth in grades 4-12 to provide tutoring and mentoring supports.

A minimum of one semester is required. 

  • Fall Sessions: October - February
  • Spring Sessions: February - June

Ages: 15 to Adults.

Grades 9th grade through 12th grade.

Tutoring Plus seeks academic mentors for Cambridge youth, for 1 hour a week!

  • Volunteers are matched with students based on academics, volunteering site needs, as well as personality and other areas of interests.
  • For a minimum of one hour a week, volunteers meet with their students 1-on-1 for an engaging tutoring and mentoring session.
  • Volunteers can choose the day of the week (Monday-Thursday) and grade level that works best for them. Session start time (6:00 and 6:15) varies based on the volunteering site.
  • All 5 of our volunteering sites are located in Cambridge, MA and are accessible by public transportation.

Volunteers will receive training and support on how to engage with our students and build relationships with them that will have a lasting impact. APPLY HERE!

Once your application is received, we will follow-up with a brief informational on-boarding meeting and to complete necessary paperwork, before being matched with a student.
