Counselor In Training Program at Outback

Counselors in Training are part of the Youth Employment Program (YEP) where youth have fun at summer camp and earn $75 for completing responsibilities during their session.

Monday, July 11 – Friday, September 2
Monday through Friday.
All day

There are 4 two-week sessions during the summer and 2 shift options.

Session 1: 7/11-7/22
Session 2: 7/25-8/5
Session 3: 8/8-8/19
Session 4: 8/22-9/2

Morning Shift: 8 am-2:45 pm with a 30 minute lunch break
Afternoon Shift: 12 pm-5:45 pm with a 30 minute lunch break

CITs must be available Monday-Friday for their entire session. No customized sessions will be allowed. CITs can only do one session per summer.

Ages: 12 to 14.

Grades 6th grade through 8th grade.

Program is not dependent on age. Youth are eligible if they are rising 7th-  9th graders (starting 7th - 9th grade after the summer break).

Counselor In Training Program

  1. Starting March 15th at 8 PM, use the online registration system to save a spot in the shift/session you are interested in.
  2. Complete the Student Application within 3 weeks of registering online. Application will become available starting March 15th and closing on May 13th
  3. Complete the Caregiver permission form within 3 weeks of registering online. NOTE: Your spot will not be secure until all 3 steps are completed.
  4. Receive your session and shift assignment via email
  5. Attend one of the Zoom orientations on June 1st or June 9th, 5:30-7PM




The Counselor in Training (CIT) program at Agassiz Baldwin Community is the summer cohort of the Youth Employment Program.  After successfully completing their session CITs earn a $75 stipend.

CITs assist Outback teachers as they lead kids (K-6th grade) in a variety of activities. As a CIT, you will have an opportunity to volunteer in the community. Learn job skills like submitting an application, filling out a timesheet, providing support, taking initiative, and working independently. Assist teachers and help children in the community.
