Youth Underground

Youth Underground is CST's resident youth performance ensemble, for ages 13-18.
This program runs during the school year.
Exact program dates are to-be-determined, we run Fall, Winter, and Spring sessions. We meet Sundays from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
Ages: 13 to 18.
Eligibility is based on age.
Application required

Registration starts in September 2023 for the fall, January 2024 for the winter/spring, and is rolling throughout the school year.

Youth Underground (YU) is Central Square Theater's resident youth performance ensemble. YU creates and performs original theater that investigates social issues relevant to young people and our world. We are a theater ensemble for teens; we create plays about issues of social justice that matter to the youth participants.
Benefits include:
- Training from professional theater artists in acting, voice, movement, ensemble performance, text analysis, and devising/playmaking;
- Using theater as a tool to explore current social issues;
- Complimentary tickets to Central Square Theater productions and special events;
- A culminating performance event on the CST Main Stage.
