We are a City department dedicated to ensuring women and girls equal economic, social, political, and educational opportunities throughout the city.

Our mission is to assist and empower low-income individuals and families to meet their basic needs, improve their quality of life, and achieve long-term economic self-sufficiency.

Using exhibitions, hands-on activities, and renowned collections, we inspire people of all ages about the possibilities and opportunities offered by science and technology.

Helping children between the ages of 7 and 12 (Littles) in under-resourced families thrive through one-to-one relationships with caring adult mentors (Bigs).

We provide free tutoring, mentoring and enrichment programs for Cambridge students in grades 4-12

We have programs for boys and girls (Cub Scout Pack for K-5 children and Scout Troop and Venture Crew for 6th grade through 20 years). Join us for weekly meetings and outdoor adventures.

We currently host programming for the Tent - a Jewish learning community for teens (8th-12th graders).

Cambridge STEAM Initiative aims to engage all residents in Cambridge in quality STEAM learning experiences, regardless of economic and social barriers.

Big Sister Boston empowers women, girls, and nonbinary folks through a variety of gender-intentional programs and opportunities.

The Lemelson-MIT Program promotes invention and the early stages of entrepreneurship across the United States through its prize program for collegiate inventors and its invention education initiative

BioBuilder is a education nonprofit established in 2011 that offers open-access synthetic biology curriculum, and programs to students and teachers around the world.

We empower K-12 girls to embrace STEM through free, hands-on science clubs taught by women mentors in STEM careers in Cambridge, Somerville, Boston.
