The Recreation Department provides quality, affordable and accessible recreational opportunities for residents of all ages in well-designed and maintained facilities.
Outside Cambridge
Helping children between the ages of 7 and 12 (Littles) in under-resourced families thrive through one-to-one relationships with caring adult mentors (Bigs).
The Port
We provide free tutoring, mentoring and enrichment programs for Cambridge students in grades 4-12
We have programs for boys and girls (Cub Scout Pack for K-5 children and Scout Troop and Venture Crew for 6th grade through 20 years). Join us for weekly meetings and outdoor adventures.
We currently host programming for the Tent - a Jewish learning community for teens (8th-12th graders).
Big Sister Boston empowers women, girls, and nonbinary folks through a variety of gender-intentional programs and opportunities.
East Cambridge
The Lemelson-MIT Program promotes invention and the early stages of entrepreneurship across the United States through its prize program for collegiate inventors and its invention education initiative
Riverside
We empower K-12 girls to embrace STEM through free, hands-on science clubs taught by women mentors in STEM careers in Cambridge, Somerville, Boston.
