Department of Human Service Programs (DHSP)

We oversee a network of partners supporting high school, opportunity youth and adult students to be prepared for, access, and complete college within six years.

We help people who are experiencing homelessness and housing problems in Cambridge.

We are Cambridge's primary access point to permanent supportive housing for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

DHSP Preschool Programs are open to Cambridge residents with age-eligible children. All our preschools are licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care.

The Recreation Department provides quality, affordable and accessible recreational opportunities for residents of all ages in well-designed and maintained facilities.

Serving both the cities of Cambridge and Somerville, the Fuel Assistance Program assists low-income households with winter heating costs incurred between November 1 and April 30.

We empower a diverse community of adult learners through education, skill development, and community participation.

We provide afterschool care for children in Cambridge.

Find It Cambridge is a search tool that helps people find services and activities in Cambridge.

We support youth with special needs in afterschool and summer programs so that they can have a successful experience.

OWD offers employment programs for both young people and adults to help them build skills, gain access to opportunities, and work towards the careers they seek.

The Cambridge Office of Early Childhood (OEC) is a collaborative office, whose work and team are shared jointly by CPS and the City of Cambridge. OEC will oversee the implementation of CPP.
