Just A Start's Home Improvement Program (HIP) provides low and no-interest loans and technical assistance to income-qualified Cambridge homeowners with their repair and rehab projects.
Sign-up Information
- Ages: Adults.
- Cambridge residents only.
- Wheelchair accessible.
Cambridge homeowners who have owned and occupied their residence for at least one year and investor-owners of 1-4 unit multifamily rental properties housing income-eligible tenants. Low and no-interest loans and grants may be available for low to moderate income eligible Cambridge homeowners.

In partnership with the City of Cambridge Community Development Department, we help income-eligible Cambridge homeowners improve their home’s efficiency, functionality and aesthetics with low interest (and sometimes no interest) loans to help fund home improvement projects. Our experienced rehab specialists guide the homeowner through the entire process: application/qualification; project scope and cost planning, bidding and contractor selection, financing/grants, and technical assistance oversight throughout the project life-cycle.
