By Just A Start
We help no, low, and moderate income residents with their housing needs, including affordable renting, affordable homeownership, homelessness prevention, mediation, renovation assistance, and more.
This is an ongoing program.

JAS’s Housing Services are provided free of charge in Cambridge for most participants. For residents of other Metro North communities, please contact us to determine whether you are eligible for our services.

Housing Services staff work with clients at JAS's office, at district courts, and at other meeting locations that are convenient for them. Appointments are required. Additional information
We can prevent homelessness through mediation to resolve disputes between tenants and landlords and by administering emergency financial assistance. JAS mediators also resolve qualifying consumer disputes referred by district courts or the MA Attorney General's Office. JAS offers an array of services to meet the needs of low-income homeowners in Cambridge, including advisory services for condominium association finances, management, compliance, and leadership development.
We can also help low to moderate income residents with finding affordable apartments, homeownership opportunities, and housing assistance.
