We offer a FREE summer program for students entering 8th grade whose families are Cambridge Housing Authority residents. Students receive a stipend.
Sign-up Information
- Ages: 12 and 13.
- Grade 7th grade.
- Cambridge public/subsidized housing residents only and Organization affiliates only.
- Refreshments provided and Translation services available - Contact the organization for more details..
This program is for current 7th graders who will be entering 8th grade after the summer.
Participants must live in Cambridge Housing Authority developments or leased housing with a voucher from Cambridge Housing Authority. If participants or their families are unsure if they qualify, please contact us and we can verify eligibility. If spots remain, general public may apply (there are 20 spaces in total).

Current members of Work Force programming are given priority, new applicants will be considered if spots remain. You will be notified about you placement by May 31st.
Contact us to inquire about open seats if you wish to apply after May 31st.
Cost
This Program is free!
Students are paid a stipend of up to $250 for completing the program (amount is based on their attendance and level of participation).

Additional information
The goal of the Summer Learning Literacy Program is to empower students to become active owners of and advocates for their education. Through youth-initiated research, group projects, peer-to-peer learning, guest speakers, and field trips, students will learn all about their learning styles and preferences, how to effectively engage with their schools and teachers, and how to increase their academic success in 8th grade and beyond!
