Youth Learn to Row

Our program gives the opportunity to try the sport of rowing year-round. There are two types of classes - sweep rowing and sculling.
Sign-up Information
- Ages: 12 to 18.
Prerequisite: All participants are required to have a valid Swim Test on file. Lifejackets are available for use.

Registration for our classes are ongoing as soon as they are posted until the start date for that class. Register online at https://communityrowing.org/learn-to-row-youth/, click on the class you want to enroll in (right column, in red) to add that class to your cart, then click "Checkout" at the top of the column. Prerequisite: All participants are required to have a valid Swim Test on file. Lifejackets are available for use.
Cost
Varies, depending on the program. This fall, Youth Learn to Row is around $230 for each class for the season. Each class meets twice per week. Participants my request financial aid after checkout, having chosen "apply for financial aid" when choosing how to pay.

This is an ongoing program.
- Fall Sessions: September 8 - October 26
- Weekdays: 4:15 to 5:45 PM
- Sat/Sun: Mornings/Early Afternoon
- Indoor classes are available during the winter on a limited basis, beginning the week after Thanksgiving.
Additional information
Youth ages 12-16 will learn to scull using two oars (sculling) or sweep style rowing (done with one oar per person as part of a team). Participants will learn safety, basic technique, boat handling, and terminology. When the weather mandates, participants will row in boats of 2 or 4 people.
