    We provide free and nutritionally balanced meals to Cambridge residents 18 years of age and under. There are vegetarian and non-vegetarian options offered at all meal sites!

    No application or registration needed.

    Evening meals end on August 15th. They take place at Cambridge Recreation Summer Basketball sites when games occur:

    • Ahern Field (Charles St) - Tuesdays and Thursdays.
    • Sennott Park (Behind the Moses Youth Center, 243 Harvard St.) - Mondays and Wednesdays.
    • Glacken Field (next to Fresh Pond Golf Course) - Tuesdays and Thursdays.
    • Hoyt Field (off of Western Ave) - Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

    Dates and Times

    This program runs during the summer.

  • Monday through Friday.
  • In the event of wet conditions, the Summer Food Program’s meal sites will be closed. Youth 18 and under can pick up breakfast and lunch meals at the following locations:  Rindge Towers Community Room, 362 Rindge Ave or Cambridge Senior Center, 806 Massachusetts Avenue (Green Street entrance).

    Runs June 30th - August 29th (excluding July 4th). 9:30 - 10:30 AM (breakfast) and 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM (lunch). Evening meals conclude on August 15th. All food sites will be closed on August 15th.

    You can also join us at the Summer Food Kickoff Event on June 27th from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM at Donnelly Field.

    Additional information

    The 2025 Cambridge Summer Food Program will offer free meals to Cambridge youth ages 18 and under. No ID necessary. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian options available. At breakfast and lunch meal sites (listed above), Cambridge youth can join Recreation staff for games and activities in the parks. Cambridge Book Bike brings story time to a different Summer Food site each week. Free dinner meals are served at DHSP Summer Basketball Locations while leagues are in session ENDS AUGUST 15TH. Cambridge youth do not need to participate in the leagues to receive a dinner meal.

    All food sites will be closed on August 15th.
