Family Activities, Homelessness Supports

A home visiting programs' primary purpose is to support and encourage parents and caregivers, share information, and connect families with resources in their home and/or a convenient location.

We provide lunch at noon every day and a continental breakfast six days each week through our drop-in Day Shelter.

This list contains several programs that provide low-cost or free internet and phone services to low-income households and individuals, including the Lifeline Program and Comcast Internet Essentials.

The City of Cambridge can help address concerns and questions about housing resources, tenants, homeowners, landlords and property management companies, and court-related information.

The Center for Families Newsletter is full of information, resources, and supports for Cambridge families with children birth-8 years old.

Safehome: Up to 1 month stay in a confidential location for an individual or family.
Transitional Housing: Up to two years of rental assistance for up to 16 survivors and their families.

We offer a progression of map navigation activities for home-schooled students who want to learning individually or in a group.

We visit moms and dads of young children at a convenient location to share information about early literacy development, talking and reading with children, and community resources.

We provide a shelter for men that includes counseling, meals, clothing, a medical clinic, and day programs.

We provide an daycare and preschool center for families in-need, particularly those trying to break the cycle of homelessness and attain self-sufficiency.

As part of our program, we hand out various combinations of sandwiches or bagged lunches, juice boxes, snacks, socks, some seasonal items, toiletry kits, and more to the community.

We provide summer reading book recommendations; activities for children, teens, and adults; live events; as well as prizes and giveaways throughout July and August.

We offer lots of free events throughout the year for people of all ages with a love of learning!

Riverside Early Head Start is a comprehensive early childhood program that partners with parents to promote children’s healthy development.

We are one of two shelters in Massachusetts that accept people who are using drugs and alcohol and are homeless.

In addition to shelter, we offer case management, workshops and trainings, supplemental resources, seasonal support, and more to 126 families in shelter.

We offer nature-based games and activities, art, live music, food, and lots of other programs and activities for all ages, year-round.

We provide shelter, transitional & permanent housing + support services to extremely low-income homeless/formerly homeless adult individuals & families with children in Cambridge & Greater Boston.

Cambridge Dads was created to increase fatherhood engagement in programming. The program strives to ensure dads are engaged, informed, and feel supported in their role as parents.

Our exciting community programming focuses on health, wellness, and active living in Cambridge! Our multiple facilities are open to community members interested in sports, activities, and lessons.

We can provide a home visitor who can visit your home for one-hour every week to explore books, educational materials, and play-based learning with your child.
